🌍 Recycling plastics plays a critical role in helping our world achieve a sustainable future. Offering innovative solutions for recycling plastics to reduce the damage caused by plastic waste to our environment and ecosystems and to protect natural resources, polynSPIRE aimed to achieve this important mission throughout the project.
🎯 The project, supported by the Horizon2020 program, focused on industrial plastic recycling processes with the aim of improving energy and resource efficiency. Recycling of plastics not only helps preserve natural resources, but also plays a critical role in reducing environmental pollution from waste plastics and the problem of plastic waste in the sea.
📚 In line with the objectives of the polynSPIRE project, an event was held in Mestre, Italy in November to encourage industrial sectors to adopt innovative technologies for plastic waste reduction and plastic pollution. Using the data we collected within the scope of this event, the project included three innovation elements and;
🔹 Recycling technologies with microwave and smart magnetic materials with a focus on chemical recycling,
🔹 Development of recycled materials by additive techniques and
🔹 We prepared a training module on the utilisation of plastic waste as a carbon source in steel furnaces.

📍 During the project process, we developed various materials to inform stakeholders in the plastic recycling value chain and organized some educational activities for schools.
