CORALIS Project aims to create pathways for the decarbonisation of resource and energy intensive sector value chains through the adoption of applicable industrial symbiosis approaches.
Within the scope of this project, Industrial Symbiosis Seminar was organised to provide insightful approaches to the journey of transformation in industry. The seminar was held on 16 January 2025 to promote the transition to circular economy and the dissemination of industrial symbiosis in energy-intensive sectors.
The seminar was moderated by Prof. Dr. Filiz Karaosmanoğlu from Istanbul Technical University and experts in their fields such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mirata from Linköping University and Emine Bilgen EYMİRLİ from Izmir Development Agency shared their views.
Among the topics discussed in the seminar were the benefits of industrial symbiosis, implementation cases in Türkiye and valuable information on success criteria. Throughout the event, participants were involved in interactive discussions on the obstacles and solutions faced by projects in this field.
Another important feature of the seminar was that it not only raised awareness in the industrial sectors, but also inspired new collaborations and projects.
