IPA

Strong Support on the Path to EU Membership
IPA, the primary financial and technical support mechanism of the European Union for candidate and potential candidate countries, aims to support the political, institutional, social, and economic reforms of countries in the membership process. Implemented since 2007, the program finances projects that facilitate the alignment of countries with EU standards and the acquis. Following the IPA I (2007-2013) and IPA II (2014-2020) periods, the IPA III period covering 2021-2027 has been launched. In this new era, which has a total budget of €14.2 billion, the goal is for beneficiary countries like Türkiye to increase their administrative capacities and achieve a competitive structure within the framework of the "fair share principle."
